The word "DOULA" comes from the ancient Greek word meaning "handmaiden".  Women have been cared for and nurtured as they become mothers from the beginning of time.  As a doula I provide continuous emotional, educational, practical and physical support during pregnancy, birth and just after childbirth.  Whether a birth is completely unmedicated or medically very complex, I will be there to support you.  While there is never any guarantee for a certain birth outcome, I am committed to facilitating a positive and empowering birth experience for you.
